1. khajjiar Lake

    

Khajjiar lake is one of the most spectacular lakes in Himachal Pradesh and one of the best places to visit in Chamba. Surrounded by the snow-clad mountains and cedar forest, the lake is located at a height of 1920 m from the mean sea level. Best time to visit Khajjiar lake is from February to April when the weather is extremely pleasant and the tourist can enjoy various recreational activities while enjoying the beauty of landscape at the same time.  hustle and bustle of city lives, Khajjiar lake is the place to go for.

 2. Kalatop Wildlife Santury


 

Kalatop wildlife sanctuary  is a animal santuary Kalatop and khajjiar in the chamba district of himachal pradesh india The sanctuary area is well laid out for trekking trails both at Kalatop and khajjiar. There is a dense deodar and fir forest covering 19.63 km² of the sanctuary, which is about 6 km from dalhouise   pheasants serow and black bear are some of the common animals found here.The sanctuary lies in the path of the Ravi river and is surrounded by coniferos and oak forests.
 

3. Chamunda Devi Temple 


Chamunda Devi Temple is one of the most important places to visit in Chamba. Chamunda Devi Temple is an important pilgrimage place for Hindus located on the banks of river Baner. The temple is completely made up of wood and was built by Raja Umed Singh in 1762 and has a gabled roof, the only one in whole of Chamba.

The Chamera dam is situated in the Chamba district, making it one of the most important places to visit in Chamba. Chamera lake is the reservoir of the dam where the water riseup to 763 meters during rainy season and 747 meters during summers. Chamera Dam is one of the major source of electricity generation in this region and generates around 540 MW of electricity. One of the most unique features of the place is the contrasting difference between the morning and night temperature. 

5. Manimahesh Lake 

 Manimahesh Kailash Peak in the Pir Panjal Range of Himalayas, Manimahesh Lake is located in the Chamba district and is one of the most important places to visit in Chamba. The lake is located at a height of 4, 080 meters from the mean sea level and has high religious significance after Lake Mansarovar in Tibet.The lake is a major pilgrimage trek, which is carried out during the months of August and September on the eighth day of new moon period, as per the Hindu Calendar and is known as 'Manimahesh Yatra.'

6. Lakshmi Narayan Temple 


 
The Lakshmi Narayan Temple is one of the oldest and largest temple in Chamba. He complex of Lakshmi Narayan temple has around six temples in total, all dedicated to either Lord Shiva or Lord Vishnu. The main idol of Lord Vishnu is made up of rare marble, which used to be found in the mountains of Vindhyas. The six main temples, there are three more temples in the complex, namely Radha Krishna Temple, Gauri Shankar Temple, and Shiva Temple of chandragupta.

7. Chaugan 

 


Chaugan is the term used in himachal for plains. The chaugan of himachal pradesh are at chamba district Sujanpur, and at jaisinghpur. Chaugan, which is located at Sujanpur Tihra is the largest region in himachal pradesh in india. It existed at the time of who was the king Raja sansar chand of Sujanpur Tihra. The fort of Sansar chand is located about  away from Chaugan.

 8. Sui Mata Temple


 

 Sui Mata Temple stands as an honour to the sacrifice of Queen Sui- the wife of King Sahil Varman. The temple is situated in the Saho village of Chamba district and is a paradigm of sacrifice. It's decorated with beautiful painting that depicts the life of Sui. A fair is organized every year at this place which begins on 15th March and continues till the first of April. Married women and girls flock to this place with offerings to pay respect to the great queen. Hence, a visit to this holy place will offer you great insight into the numerous traditions and culture of Chamba.

 9. Champavati Temple

 


The temple, which holds great religious and historical significance, is located nearby Treasury building and Police Post in Chamba. It can be discerned by its Shikhara style and several ornate stone carvings that make it unique from other temples in this region. The Shikhara style of this temple reminds travelers of the architectural wonders of Nepal that features cylindrical structures categorized into 5 to 9 parts. Champavati Temple is named after Champavati, who was the daughter of King Sahil Varman, the founder of the temple. It holds great historical and religious relevance for many hindus.

10 . Rang Mahal


Rang Mahal, built by Raja Umed Singh in the 18th century, is one of the largest monuments located in Chamba region. The palace highlights the perfect blend of Mughal and British architecture and has strikingly designed high fort-like walls. When the monument was handed over to State Handicrafts Department, many changes were carried out in the architecture of building and the historical artifacts of the same are placed in Bhuri Singh Museum. Rang Mahal was not only built with the aim to provide king's abode but also to serve as the warehouse for treasure and grains.
